The area where I live is locally known as Haugaland or Haugalandet (The Haugaland). It is the red area on the map. The area has around 100.000 inhabitants and among the highest growth rates in the country.

Today Haugalandet consists of 10 communicipalities:

• Bokn
• Etne
• Haugesund (The "city")
• Karmøy
• Sauda
• Sveio
• Tysvær
• Utsira
• Vindafjord
• Ølen
