On Saturday we celebrated Martin's 60th birthday. At night, we visited Garbo's, a fantastic show with a clever concept. A four hour show, a fireworks of music and dance covering most of the great hits over the last 40 years.

Fantastic show for the baby boomers that were the majority of the audience.

Garbo's, named after a famous Swedish actress, do have a web site (not updated since Jan '03), and an incorrect email, garobs@nordotel.com that doesn't work. Sloppy web management, if you ask me. Responsible is Jan Kack. (What does KACK mean in Afrikaans?)

Next time at Grand Canary, pay them a visit. It's well worth it.

To the left, the big moving day. Last half day in our old stinking flat at 118. Lesson learned:
Complain when the stench hit you.

On the poolside. Nice way to start the day.

And a dip is compulsory. The water nice, but the pool-size and shape is stupid.

Martin is not the only one having a dip.

On the move. Borrowing a shopping trolley made it easy.

The entrance to no 15, our new flat for the last week.

The entrance of no 15. Real cosy.

And the view to the pool with its ugly ornament in the middle of the pool, taking swimming space away for nothing.

At Garbo's with a nice drink of water.

Our hostess for the night, Elin. The unique feature of this show is the combination of jobs of the waiters. Both serving the guests and performing on the stage, thus fulfilling two jobs and saving management salaries. Great concept.

As one of the many people celebrating birthdays, Martin was up on the stage with the rest of them.

All of us performing YMCA under the skilled choreography of one of the waiters/performers.

Martin back at his table after the performance. Really great show in all aspects.

As I said at the top of the page, a highly recommended show for anyone visiting Grand Canary. Before departure for Grand Canary, contact Garbo's for info. Enjoy !

But Jan Kack's email may not function. If not, use the phone at (0034) 928 15 7060.

The next day, Sunday, we took a lazy bus ride to San Agustin for updating these web-pages.
