Jawa making tips
Here's several links to tips for making your own Jawa:
Jawa robe
I used burlap for this Jawa. I've also made some cutting patterns.

Eyes
I struggled a while finding oldie style cats eyes reflectors but found it in one of the oldest bike shops in Oslo, Den Rustne Eike.
The orange plastic lenses made the eye fronts, and a piece of plasticard the back. I perforated this for easy sewing onto the black face mask.
Some Veroboard and SMD-type LEDs with resistors made the light source. 9V power, a resistor and three LEDs in series.
Puppet
Made from 32mm plumbing tubes from Biltema. Head is made of a plastic lamp cover.
Future improvements
I plan to make a small PIC-based circuit to animate the Jawa puppet head making the it turn back and forth and make Jawa sounds sampled from the Star Wars films.
Also, this microcontroller will incorporate a PWM power output for the eyes to make them blink or fade.
Fabric
Burlap fabric is not perfect for this task. It shrinks a LOT in the washing/colouring process and is too flimsy and transparent for a good look. I have traced down some new fabric, and will be making Jawa v2 soon.
Star Wars Jawa puppet and costume
After some planning I decided to make my own Jawa puppet, a nice addition to my other costumes and models.
Version 1 is finished, but I'm planning to make a new one soon.
No pictures of the robe and puppet yet!
